Condado de Oriza Reserva 2018 Ribera del Duero
In the inland Spanish region of Ribera del Duero, the sleek Pagos del Rey winery rises majestically from the sun-baked landscape – concrete walls, cantilevered roof, panoramic views over rows of vineyards. The design is a testament to the team’s forward-thinking mindset, which also extends to the winemaking. As well as employing the latest vinous technology, they’ve been known to play opera music in cellars to enhance their ageing wines. The Solis family owns 70 hectares of vines and works with another 450 family-owned vineyards across 1,600 hectares. For this 100% Tempranillo, grapes have been carefully macerated for five days then aged for 24 months in French and American oak. Add in another year of resting in bottle and it’s earned the special ‘Reserva’ title. Dark ruby hued and with complex aromas of cherry, dried plum, balsamic, toast and spice, it has a long finish. Powerful but well-integrated tannins.

We had Paella Lovers deliver two big paellas for our parents’ funeral this week. We are Spanish and let me tell you… these paellas were authentic and very tasty. Bob delivered to our kitchen a vegetarian and a chicken & seafood paella along with the most delicious aioli! We all shouted ‘Ole!’ When he took the foil off. The presentation was great. They arrived hot and ready to eat. Managed to take a couple of snaps before they were devoured! Thank you Bob and Paella Lovers for the beautiful paella. They were a big hit with our guests. I highly recommend you!

Fantastic! The black rice seafood paella was one of the best I have had, it came with the perfect garlic mayonnaise. Very generous portions meant we could all have seconds. The Chicken and chorizo paella was also very good and both were delivered hot in the paella pans so looked wonderful. Bob answered all my questions and always responded quickly. Great thing to do for a large group of people. Highly recommend Bob and his paellas.

I have recently ordered a take away and it was delicious! It was the most authentic paella I have tasted (even better than ones I’ve had in Spain) it was hot and fresh with great quality ingredients!you could definitely taste the passion and love. The portion size was great the ordering process was easy with great communication ! Myself and my husband enjoyed our with our growing boys but it a fab idea for a date night or a lovely alternative take away for hosting friends and we cannot wait to order again in the future.

The paella was absolutely delicious, there was so much of it and it was so delicious that we finished it off for breakfast the next day! 10/10 flavour & quality, and 10/10 value! We had a seafood paella and a vegan one, there was a great range of veggies in the vegan paella, and loads of juicy, perfectly cooked king prawns, mussels, clams and squid in the seafood paella, the rice was also cooked to perfection!! Bob was extremely helpful and accommodating, speedy with communication and very friendly. This was the perfect meal and exactly what we needed after a long walk and a cold swim on the beach, couldn’t recommend more!!

We ordered the paella for five and there was more than enough for six, very generous portions. It was absolutely gorgeous, we had the chicken and prawn which had plenty of meat and prawns in it. I’d definitely order one again, so much better than cooking!
